ZERO stars f I could !
Constant issues with billing to the degree that they omit produced solar energy for 4 months due to meter outage and bill me later for those months were I usually overproduce past my usage as in the 10 consistent years prior. Refused to give credit or utilize previous years production data to make it right. Reached out to PUC, useless measure as they are part of SCVE ...
Worst utility company ever, to reach customer service is a "2 hour wait on hold to talk to someone" nightmare at any given time (Covid's fault, of course...).
Billing delays, website down, payment tool on website non functioning, unable to obtain solar energy production data, the list goes on and on ...
Terrible organization ...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anet R.Monrovia, CA21118134Dec 29, 2021
I'm currently sleeping at my moms because my electricity did not transfer to my new apartment. This is so dumb. This was scheduled and still waiting. How can I sleep in a place with no light ? And there's no customer service or email to contact anyone !!!!!

A waste of resources, time and money. This company hires the largest quantity of incompetents and blow hards. Expect you project to take forever.

This has happened 3 times already where the contractors you hire do not ask us for permission before climbing over our side wall to get to the backyard because we keep the side gate locked. We live in Pasadena. One of the times a contractor stood on top of the side wall (which is shared with our neighbor) while waiting for his partner contractor to finish doing what he needed to do for the maintenance on the pole in our backyard.
Next time you need contractors in our backyard, leave a written note indicating what date you plan on needing the gate unlocked to get access to the pole in our backyard. We have it captured on camera of each of these 3 times where your contractors have climbed over the side wall and have even scratched the top of our side gate while sliding large tools over the gate. You are responsible for the damage. Be a responsible and reputable company and leave us a note when this will occur again, and pay us for the scratched damage for our side gate!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandra R.Monrovia, CA056Dec 13, 2019
Called to complain about a recent scheduled outage that was canceled and the inconvenience of an over night outage.
The woman I spoke with could not have been more rude. She contradicted my every sentence and was just snappy and mean.
The outage was canceled but we were not notified. It cost me $125 for my dog and me to stay at a nearby motel for the night.
Why ???? Do they need to sign overnight in winter ! It's too cold to stay home with out power in winter. Why not do those in better weather ?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Quincie N.Denver, CO38333Feb 2, 2020
This is the absolute WORST company. If I could give a negative rating I would. I was locked out of my account for a clerical error that I had my bank call to fix and instead of helping, this company made it so it was nearly impossible to pay my bills and then charges me for their own idiocy. Also when you try to call their customer service line it will only lead you down a rabbit hole of button options and that get you no closer to fixing your issue and then they eventually hang up with you. I will be looking for an alternative company to use for my energy needs, as they are draining my wallet and my sanity. WARNING- VERY BAD COMPANY.

Sparks from my electrical panel breakers....smell of something burning.... power off...power on...several times by itself during the night. No sleep...no work....worried about mom who sleeps right next to the panel!!!
I made a call in the middle of the night...and I actually got a Edison person...a concerned person at that.
The sparks had stopped and I said it's OK to send someone tomorrow (SUNDAY). They reluctantly hung up after our conversation...but...to my surprise.....only to call me back....saying that they had dispatched a person. Coooool!
After waiting awhile, I decided to go get something to eat. While coming home; the technician calls and says he's at my house and fixing the problem.
Stuck in traffic, I arrived 20 minutes later and this superb technician had repaired my electrical panel finding a 3 inch wire shorting out between the two breakers.
The five stars definitly go to the Edison people.Helpful 24Thanks 0Love this 18Oh no 0 - J. D.Lancaster, CA1416819Aug 28, 2018
Having lived in a dozen states this in my opinion is the worst run public utility in the country. They are simply a monopoly that has a service everyone must have and that is the only reason they can treat consumers so terribly. Where do I start?
1. Had public utilities services over 25 years and make over 150k a year but I have to pay a 100 dollar deposit? Yeah right.
2. Cut electricity in 10 days for nonpayment of deposit? Like that can't be included with the first months bill? Ridiculous
3. Can't setup automatic payments when the account is initially opened? Yeah right
4. Can't take payments over the phone? Either Check or credit? Can't take credit card payments at all? Ridiculous.
5. Turn off electricity without any notice? Email, phone etc? Ridiculous
They would not last 6 months in the private sector with those above business practices if they were not a monopoly. Complaints to their governing board are ignored. Again one of if not the worst run public utility in the country.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - N F.Chicago, IL1325333Jul 7, 2018Updated review
Update: second day in a row. Another power outage. Hours and still no power. Hot too. You have one job....

I had several outages this past year. Many of them during the hottest months. Looks like it's going to be another rough summer for this paying customer, SCE. Last year I lost a lot of food too, including all my frozen breast milk for my baby. SCE didn't reimburse even though you were the cause of losing refrigerated food due to 8+ hours without power (several times.)
I've submitted receipts and reimbursement requests. After being denied I gave up doing this because I realized how unethical your company is; I wasn't going to continue to waste my time.
Not only am I excited to pay double for groceries and retreat to places that can keep their power on, but I'm also looking forward to that $400 summer bill.
You have one job........
