Great C/P ratio with all day combo special. Free drinks are amazing especially the Assam black tea. The server is welcoming and polite. The restaurant is clean and neat.

The restaurant has street parking and there's a parking lot behind the store.
They have indoor seating.
I tried the red grain pork combo which comes with a drink (I chose green tea) and a bean curd salad. Also tried meatball noodle soup and shaved ice. Everything was delicious. Generous portion of shaved ice. We were not expecting that size. Quality of tea was good. You can really taate the rea and not overmasked by sugar.
Staff was friendly.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 17121646May 3, 2024
I tried their lunch combo recently. Good portion and also comes with green or red tea. Not salty at all and tastes home made to me. I like that they put drumsticks sauce on the side. I didn't need to use any of the sauce though. Also not oily.
Food came out quickly. Service is also friendly and attentive.
Parking in the back. Or try find street parking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex Z.Los Angeles, CA313211Apr 9, 2024
Ordered togo.
The food and service are ok, but the price is way too high for the portion that they give. Can find many better Taiwanese restaurants at cheaper prices in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 2024
Nestled in Arcadia's bustling culinary landscape, Monja Taiker stands as a beacon for enthusiasts eager to savor the true essence of Taiwanese cuisine. Stepping into this charming bistro on a cool Wednesday evening, the bustling atmosphere and bustling tables immediately hinted at the culinary adventure awaiting us.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, whose passion for Taiwanese flavors permeated every corner of the restaurant. Engaging in conversation, we uncovered the significance behind the restaurant's name, which pays homage to Taipei's indigenous culinary heritage and the lively Taike culture of Taiwan, adding depth to our dining experience.
The star attraction of the evening was undoubtedly Monja Taiker's renowned red grain pork, a tantalizing symphony of crispy exteriors and tender meat that transported us to the streets of Taipei. Each bite was a celebration of flavors, evoking memories of authentic Taiwanese street food.
In addition to this culinary masterpiece, the popcorn chicken stole the show with its perfect balance of crunchiness and tenderness, elevated by the aromatic touch of basil that lingered on the palate with each savory bite.
A notable feature of Monja Taiker is their thoughtful use of to-go disposable plates, catering to diners on the move without compromising on quality or convenience, adding to the restaurant's dynamic charm.
As we bid farewell to Monja Taiker, we couldn't help but reflect on its invaluable contribution to Arcadia's dining scene. With its warm hospitality, commitment to authenticity, and tantalizing flavors, Monja Taiker has undoubtedly earned its place as a must-visit destination for Taiwanese cuisine enthusiasts, promising an unforgettable journey through the vibrant tapestry of Taiwan's culinary heritage.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Mar 10, 20241 check-in

My mom and I came in to try their food since we were introduced to them during the Lunar festival held nearby. This restaurant is quite small and, interestingly enough, they serve their food in takeout trays and paper bowls even though we dined in. These were what we got:
Steam pork combo: the steamed pork didn't look appealing, but it was actually very savory and filling. The plate came with napa cabbage, pickled veggie, a ground meat sauce, and green tea. The tea was refreshing and everything tasted really good!
Popcorn chicken combo: if you're a fan of popcorn chicken, this is the place to get it. It was crispy, fresh, and the chicken was quite lean! It came with rice, ground meat sauce, napa cabbage, and side of pickled veggie. I would definitely get this again!
Service was nice and the interior looked really cute. Price-wise, I think it's pretty standard for today's economy... Free parking is available behind the building. No complaints here.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2024
I have been here twice: once for a take-out and the other time for dine-in. This is the third location of a Taiwanese franchise chain, as I was told by the store manager. I've been to their Rowland Heights location. The store manager was friendly and helpful. He kept coming by asking if everything was ok and if we had enough to eat! He even gave us complimentary winter melon jello and green tea jello as desserts!
For lunch, they have reasonably priced and delicious combinations. We got the following combination: fried pork chop, dry noodles with minced pork and an ice black tea. For the second combination, we got popcorn chicken, rice with minced pork and upgraded the ice tea to a boba milk tea for an extra charge.
The food was not exceptional but good. Last time for take-out, I got the house dan-dan dry noodles and that wasn't very good. The sauce wasn't right. I also got the sesame chicken soup and that was DELICIOUS especially for cold days. That soup will warm you up from head to toe!
The interior is simple. This restaurant took over Bean Sprouts, a Taiwanese/Chinese vegetarian restaurant that was here for over a decade (sad). This is a nice change. Maybe I will come back once they get their shaved ice machine working.Helpful 7Thanks 1Love this 8Oh no 1 - Mar 4, 20241 check-in
I've been driving by for months waiting for this location to open. We've always gone to the Rosemead location, and glad finally there's one closer to home for us. We had some miscommunication with our order since we do not speak Mandarin, but the waiter was apologetic and corrected our order. I ordered the B1 Monja Red Grain Pork Noodle Soup, hubby was hungry after a long flight and he ordered A4 Preserved Veggies with dried pork rice, a side of E15 steamed cabbage pak choy, and not on menu a side of Monja Red Grain Pork.
Most of our food came out less than 5 minutes after we ordered. I think the workers were confused how 2 pp can eat so much food. So when we asked about our extra side order of red grain pork, the worker pointed to mine which came with the noodles. We always order a side of red grain pork no issue at the Rosemead location, however the worker informed us this location is a different owner/boss.
Have to admit the pork that came with my noodles was a bit dry and chewy. Whereas the new one we added was much more tender and crispy since it was freshly made. I was also surprised how everything was served in paper bowls and plates. Hopefully later when they are fully staffed they can use real serving dishes. Overall, I am still happy with a Monja location so close to us and we will be back again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Feb 28, 20246 check-ins
This is Monja's newest SGV location serving yummy Taiwanese dishes in the heart of Arcadia. We had a bit of a mixed experience when we visited for lunch during their opening week - mostly great with a few issues that will likely be sorted out as they settle in. Their red grain pork and dry noodles are fantastic, service excellent, prices very decent, and the restaurant has great vibes!
We tried their Combo D and a bowl of their wonton noodle soup - their combos are a great deal and definitely the way to go here. For the Combo D, we chose the Monja red grain pork and our kind server recommended the dry noodles as our side choice and it ended up being our fave item of the meal - fantastic recommendation!
The red grain pork slices were soft on the inside with a marvelous slightly sweet red crust on the outside - absolutely loved it! Their dry noodles have a lovely texture and come topped with a flavorful savory ground pork - delicious! The combos also come with some fermented veggies which was almost all cabbage and also very nice - I loved all the combo items and their combos are a great price.
Opening week they gave out free milk teas with all the meals so we tried their regular milk tea and a strawberry milk tea with boba at 25% sugar - both drinks were perfect - great flavors and they have some really nice boba. 25% sweet was still very sweet so I'll probably get no sugar in the strawberry milk tea next time.
I had to take off a star for 2 reasons. One is that they're serving all their food in to-go containers which really took away from our dine-in experience - especially when it came to the wonton noodle soup - which brings me to my second reason.
The soup came out boiling hot in a very flimsy plastic to-go container - we were worried the plastic was going to melt! The wontons were actually decent but the broth had a very strange flavor to it - almost chemical?? Was it the super heated plastic? A strange spice? Not sure but my husband refused to eat it - I tried but couldn't get past the weird taste. Definitely wouldn't order this again. And I hope that they'll switch to actual dishes for their dine in customers once they settle in :/
Our server was fantastic - very patient, attentive, and friendly - and the restaurant is in a great location overlooking downtown Arcadia. The vibe is cozy and decor is fun - and their prices are very reasonable for the area. Parking is all street parking and we had no issues finding a spot for our late lunch.
We'll definitely be back for more combos, red grain pork and dry noodles!! Welcome to the neighborhood! :DHelpful 44Thanks 10Love this 38Oh no 0 - Regis K.Arcadia, CA39678011230Mar 10, 20241 check-in
Newly opened in Arcadia, Monjataike's recent arrival has sparked excitement among food enthusiasts eager to experience authentic Taiwanese flavors. Stepping into the restaurant on a busy Saturday night, the lively atmosphere and packed tables set the stage for an evening of culinary delight. Engaging with the owner, we discovered the meaning behind the restaurant's name, reflecting Taipei's indigenous food scene and the vibrant Taike culture of Taiwan, adding depth to our dining experience.
The star of the show, Monjataike's red grain pork, delivered a symphony of flavors with its crispy exterior and tender meat, reminiscent of Cantonese char siu. While the minced pork rice fell short of expectations as I preferred the lurou rice made with pork belly, the owner's hospitality extended to allowing us to sample items from the lunch set menu during dinner, including the highly recommended beef noodle set. Despite minor hiccups, the cozy bistro atmosphere, reasonable prices and commitment to authenticity made for an unforgettable dining experience.
As we bid farewell to Monjataike, we couldn't help but appreciate its contribution to the local dining scene. While the use of disposable bowls for hot noodles was a small detractor, the restaurant's dedication to providing a taste of Taiwan in Arcadia shines through in every flavorful dish. With its warm hospitality and tantalizing flavors, Monjataike promises to be a go-to destination for Taiwanese cuisine enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable dining experience.Helpful 46Thanks 10Love this 43Oh no 2
