Can the menu of your new breakfast be available for perusal? ... UPDATE: I see appetizers, Matt Denny's Lavosh, Salads and Soup, House Specialties, Sandwiches, etc. are listed. Seems no different from regular menu. Is that the case?

      A:

That information is on the Matt Denny's website.

My husband came here a few weeks ago, and the food was great. Came here tonight and ordered the black-and-white blue rib eye...OMG! Had the Guinness stew...mmmmm
Highlight was the garlic mash potatoes...delish!
Attentive servers and just the right vibe. Casual but nice.

Matt Denny's is becoming our family fav more so than BJ's as quality & cookery of the steaks we ordered have an edge over them.

More of a local feel, old country ambiance, friendly service, and spacious.

      Other deliciousness are:
      Fish & Chips
      Shepherds pie
      Fried Chicken
Grilled Chicken w/ mash & mushroom sauce
      Burger

Pricing is about right though I thought the Butter Cake for $19 was overpriced! Nick's in Pasadena same size for less.

Other than that our family enjoyed it!

I don't give Matt Denny's five stars because it's on par with Osteria Mozza. It gets five stars because it's exactly what I was looking for during a break from my son running in the Arcadia Invitational track meet. I also like to help counteract the goofballs that give a place two stars because a bartender spoke to another table too long. Also, it's easy to tell when a place cares about the food they put in front of you. Matt Denny's cares.

I wanted a beer. It's a great pub with a good beer selection. I had a fresh Sierra Nevada, which has been disappearing from taps but there is a reason they still serve it at Chez Panisse. Then I had a Pliny the Elder with my Guiness stew pot pie. I know. The Lord smiles upon me.

The pot pie is a good hunk of puff pastry baked atop their Guiness stew. The stew is a surprise. It's got a wonderfully flavorful but still fairly light broth and nice chunks of steak, corned beef, potatoes, carrots, and celery. I almost didn't pull the trigger on this one account of a pastrami sandwich that passed by, but I am glad I did.

The pie comes with two sides, which I thought unnecessary. But the sautéed spinach is perfect. Fresh spinach and garlic sautéed in olive oil and served piping hot immediately. I devoured it while the pie cooled.

My second side was a good fruit cup for dessert.

I'll save the calories for a second Pliny. Then more track.

BTW I live at the beach and had never been to Arcadia before. But if life ever brings me to Arcadia, or Monrovia, or Duarte.... I'll be back.

      WTF?

This place just blew me away with their pretensiouness!

I am easy going very chill. I walked in and there was a gentleman on a guitar singing and playing some jams. Digging it.

I walked up to the bar and the bartender said "what up dude!" Then the bartender proceeded to head to a table to talk to a patron and kept talking. And talking. And talking. I literally walked in and was looking for a drink. I kept waiting. Waiting. Waiting. The other bartender was talking to some customers, not looking at me at all. The first bartender came back gave me a menu and tap menu and left. Then I waited. Waited. Waited. The whole time I was chill. Was thinking of eating something. Then as I waited to get served. I realized the menu was over priced. And the service sucked! It was not busy at all, for the bartenders to be ignoring me. In my opinion they were busy enjoying conversation with their regulars.

My first time and last time I will be coming to this place.

The only reason I gave them two stars is that they have Pliny the elder from Russian river on tap. Very hard beer to find on tap.

The food is over an hour long wait, no one greeted us at the host stand, no water was served for 30 mins. Awful service and food service. The ambiance was older crowd yet no waitress in sight for a solid half hour. The waitress was apologetic but we were there for 1.5hrs without food... DO NOT COME!
edit: So, after the food came, my fish tacos were mainly batter, less fish, I shouldn't have waited for it. Still stand by my original statement. If we had some compensation I'd maybe understand but over $60 for mediocre food and bad customer service is a joke.

      No food after 1.5 hrs

Very good service on a weekday late lunch. Space was clean & comfortable. Able to linger and enjoy an after meal drink. We had sandwiches (club and beef) with fries off the lunch menu. Lots of tasty food. Menu was extensive and desserts looked tempting.

Upscale ambiance for a typical pub. Pretty good draft beer list including some local stuff which I appreciated as a traveler.

We got some lavosh to share as an appetizer and it was excellent. Normally not a fan of only mushrooms, but still enjoyed it. Probably the highlight of the meal.

I got the Chicken California for my meal with mashed potatoes and beans. Sides were fairly good. Avocado was perfect ripeness on the chicken and it has good flavor.

Portion sizes were huge. 2 chicken breasts and plenty of sides for 2 hearty meals. Would have rather had a reasonable portion for a lower price since I couldn't take leftovers home.

We stopped in here for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon. Angela recommended a local beer and the pastrami sandwich. It was great. We strongly recommend the sweet potato fries with a side of
      Ranch. You won't be disappointed.

First time at this location after a co worker recommended it. Came here for a work party and arrived early to partake in some happy hour drinks. I ordered the happy hour old fashioned and was pleasantly surprised. Not too sweet not too strong, just right, just missing the orange peel. The work party had a pre planned meal and I chose the burger with an extra patty, which was just right. Overall my impression was the place was older, but had that old style ale vibe. The servers were all great, they definitely looked like they enjoyed working and gave great service.
