Tis the season of giving!
Every year, they set up shop in front of Nordstrom at the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Center.
There you will find a few tall Christmas tree decorated with holiday inspired cards, on these cards you will see that it belongs to a child in need: foster kids, emancipated kid, college kids who need extra help. On card it will be a list of items that they wish to have this Christmas. You will come across cards where they will ask for items for a group of kids to use in the common/shared room. Or it would be a wish list of an individual child.
Sometime the items that the kids are requesting for are so simple that sometimes it makes me a bit sad to look it. There are some wish lists that are asking for the basic daily items: toothpaste, washcloth, body wash. These are items that we over look at home. We already have it and we don't really see it as something someone would need because we believe they would already have it. I always tend to reach out for those cards, I just want to do my best to help out.
This year would be my 3rd year donating to children in need. And I think everyone else who is at the mall should just stop by and check out their set up. It's a good thing they are doing and it would be a wonderful fun experience to be a part of. Especially around the holidays, it feels good to be able to help someone in need.
The staffs working there are volunteers, very nice and friendly. This is great thing they are doing, helping out those in needs not just during the holiday. I understand there are a lot of organizations out there and people are busy. So picking up a card at the mall and just buying what is needed at the mall is the easiest way to shop for someone.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
