I am Kathleen K's husband and need to respond to Omar's response to her poor review of Dewey Pest Control.
We had a burglary, not a break in. Our security system recorded a door being opened and closed that was inconsistent with the supervisor's admitted activity. Without any physical sign of entry, the burglars entered a door that was not to be used, went directly to our bedrooms and left 1 1/2 hours later. Valuables worth $80,000 were stolen.
Contrary to Omar's response, Dewey did not take immediate action. They were slow to return my calls, extremely nonchalant and told me to call the police. Brian Brandner stated that they have not had a burglary in 6 years, but was not interested enough to come to the house see for himself and express regret that it happened on his watch. And we were not strongly advised to provide a guard or watchman; it was casually mentioned and we signed the papers which includes a disclosure.
After 2 calls to Brian and 2 calls to Omar we got an apology. That's the best they could do. My naïveté and mistake for giving the supervisor a key and not hiring a guard. I was referred over by a long time and loyal client of 15 or more years. They recommended Darrel. Dewey Pest Control has many locations and I was very lucky to also receive really great service from Heather, and Edmundo.
Heather normally is the one who answers my phone calls. She is very professional, kind, helpful, patient, thorough, and just an amazing people person! I really like her amazing work ethic and personality. She made this process very painless, smooth, quick, and absolutely wonderful. She guided me step by step all the way, and answered all my questions. She didn't rush me which I really liked. I normally have a lot of anxiety and I have PTSD, so I really don't enjoy talking on the phone for errands, but I actually enjoy talking to Heather and she made my experience calming and superb.
Edmundo is also all the amazing qualities. He is very professional, kind, helpful, patient, thorough, and also a wonderful outgoing, funny person. He took his time explaining everything in a calm way. He wasn't rushing me and I really liked that. He is very fast I believe his entire visit was under 7 minutes. And maybe 4 minutes of the explanation, answering questions, payment and paperwork? It was extremely fast maybe the entire transaction was under 5 minutes total. Including the job! I look forward to seeing him every other month!
Bonus: He even wore the shoe booties for my apartment! I really appreciated that because my house hold takes off shoes upon entering and I shampoo vacuum and vacuum very often.
Be sure you are not home 3 hours after treatment is done to the home. For example if work was done at 12pm don't go home until 3pm at least! Be sure to evacuate your housemates and including any pets. You don't have to move your food around, they do treatment behind the fridge, windows, against the floors, and I believe it's called floor boards? And I was able to leave windows open for this treatment if I wanted to. Just a heads up you don't get a phone call from the same number all the time.
I enjoyed my experience with Dewey Pest Control, the people who work here as well. I especially like the people's personalities, professionalism, time, and hard work. They let me ask all my questions, they are attentive, patient, kind, and very fast. They are affordable and a great team! I'm very extremely grateful for this wonderful business and the people here. A++

September 15th around 3:30pm. I just want to highlight Edmundo again. Thanking him so much! He made my and my roommate's day so much better. Thank you for your helping me with my heavy things. You went the extra mile to offer without me even asking. Being in tune to details and surrounding to provide the best customer service! Also he gives tips to help keep the bugs out, which I really appreciate he takes the time and effort to explain and help. His genuine positivity, kindness, warm smile, and patience is just so refreshing. He is an amazing professional. We have had a terrible experience with Dewey in Pasadena. Our home was tented for termites. On the day the tent was to be removed the supervisor called with "bad news" that we had been robbed. We came home to learn that the tent had not been fooled with or torn and there was no evidence of forced entry-and our security system showed doors being left unlocked and then opened while tented.Police believe it was an inside job. We found the lead who set this up and the head of the work team totally unresponsive ("It never has happened before") -the manager of the office finally phoned us back but said though he would investigate he couldn't tell us anything. Obviously this is low priority for police but we are so disappointed in the company. There were some items of value taken --but the heartbreak is the sentimental items that have no resale value(gifts from parents) and so mysteriously my dogs ashes.

We have already taken immediate action initiating an internal investigation and working closely with the local authorities to investigate this matter thoroughly. Its disheartening to hear that the officer you spoke with insinuated that Dewey Pest Control had any hand in this unfortunate incident. We work hard to prepare our clients for each fumigation which includes a signed notice by owner with a disclosure that explains due to the increase in crime involving structures under fumigation, you are strongly advised to provide a guard or watchman (at owner's expense) in order to prevent vandalism or burglary. This review is long overdue, but no less deserved. I purchased a home and had a different termite company do the tenting. It was fine, but it was very expensive and I don't recall any thorough discussion about the importance of getting a subterranean termite treatment. I decided to explore other businesses, include Dewey Pest Control in Pasadena. I got connected with inspector Brian Brandner. He came over and took a look at the property. He was very professional, courteous, and, unlike the previous termite company, thorough in his explanations with me, including the importance of treating the property for subterranean termites. We scheduled an appointment and him and his partner were punctual and efficient. The price was also more than reasonable. I highly recommend Dewey in Pasadena, and, if given the option, request Brian Brandner!

Project was in November 2020 with pending dispute!
This review is only for the pasadena location as dewey is a big company and a franchise therefore this review is only for this location.
Prior to signing the papers for a 6k fumigation job, I kept getting calls from the rep to go in to sign the paperwork and timeline review (often repeated my words) almost every other day for 2 weeks. The job was scheduled for the weekend of Thanksgiving when I called early November. They were so busy and I was happy they were able to fit me in compared to other locations and companies I've called, I received a timeline of mid-Decemeber!
Anyway, out of curiosity on the day of teardown of tents, I looked at my security cameras to see how they were doing partially because I had contractors on hold waiting to start the job and unfortunately they cannot start until all tents are removed so I wanted to check the videos to get a status. Wow to my surprise caught one of the guys taking a lighter from my back patio on live camera. Feeling uneasy, I started looking at other recorded footages and found that the workers were stealing. Very unprofessional. I drove to the property hoping to confront them, but by the time I got to the job site, they were gone.
I immediately called the rep and unfortunately I couldn't fully relay what I saw as he was in a bad reception area. 3 hours later I finally called the office and to the asst manager's surprise, such matter was not reported???
Apparantly because they were so busy, the rep that was assigned to my project outsourced it to a smaller sub company. I get that large companies sometimes sub it out due to heavy workloads, but this is unacceptable.
The rep may have called me once after apologizing saying that this has never happened and it's out of their control. He got upset when I said he was unprofessional. No offense to him and it's been a little over a month since the project and I have not gotten anymore calls from this rep in response to the dispute. Instead this is what I got:
- I had to work directly with the 3rd party company to dispute my project (someone finally showed up 4 days after the initial job and where was the rep from dewey?!?!)
- I had to followup with the 3rd party directly(which they've partially worked with me to fix the damages caused by the job and terminated the workers who stole from the job site)
- I had to negotiate the discount with the 3rd party (still pending response from the 3rd party)
- stolen property included alcohol, water, lighter, a pair of tom ford sunglasses, and damaged custom lawn light ( which they fixed a month later on a weekend due to busy timelines) and perhaps other?
It's unfortunate... I had to personally deal with this during the holidays and on weekends, trying to get my house completed so we can move in, unreliable dewey company, and an unknown 3rd party. This is added unnecessary stress, time away from my work to meet and talk to the 3rd party.
Super baffled how the rep called me non-stop to collect money and signed paperwork to start the job BUT only 1 followup call following the incident.
I would definitely look elsewhere or make clear expectations to have them use their own guys and not sub the project out. 6k + unexpected time wasted for fumigation is a hefty price to pay for unhelpful and satisfactory service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am and have been on auto pay for many years with dewey at my current address as well as old addresses. Dewey messed up and applied part of my auto pay to an old account that should not have had a balance. From that point on dewey would state that I was behind in my payments. Somehow even when I would make extra payments they would still show me behind. I have talked to them several times with the most recent one being a little over a month ago. They had stated they would fix the issue and get back to me only for them to tell me once again this month I was behind. I requested to close my account due to these problems which they cared less about and they ended up charging me what I was supposedly behind which isnt accurate

One of the most unprofessional companies I've dealt with, and I've had extensive construction work done dealing with many contractors and trades.
We had ants and possibly termites. Dewey's call center rep kindly scheduled Hector saying he was certified to inspect both ants and termites. I provided two afternoons of availabilities and asked that someone calls us back with a time that worked for Hector. No one called. Hector showed up unannounced. Luckily I was working from home and hung up from my work call to make myself available for Hector. I asked how come no one called to confirm the time he was coming? He said he cancelled another customer to come here. I was shocked to hear that since I didn't request an urgent appointment. Wow what kind of company cancels another customer's existing appointment for a new prospect?
Hector started by handing me a business card as he walked in. Then he took a brief look at the inside corner where bugs came in and didn't look anywhere else and was already walking out after I asked some questions. As he rushed to leave, he said yes you have ants and the prices are already written on the back of the card he gave me earlier. So he pre-determined the prices and the treatment without even looking around outside the house or an inspection. I asked what about termites? He said termites weren't his job. I said your call center rep said you would inspect both. He said no, it must be some other company I called. Are you kidding me? Hector was actively pushing customers away by being so rude. I hadn't called anyone else and told him so. Then he said are you sure? I'm sure you called other companies. What a rude jerk. Then he left.
I was stunned by how rude and unprofessional Hector was, so I called and spoke to a manager. The manager was professional, apologetic, and wanted to send a different person, so I thought I'd give Dewey another chance. Melissa came and spent the time for a real inspection, which turned my impression of Dewey around and decided to hire them. Once we agreed on the treatment and price, Melissa said she would email me the service agreement the next morning, and after I sign it, she would then schedule the treatment. Next day came and went and nothing from Melissa. So I texted her, and later followed up with a voicemail. She texted back later that she took a vacation day but will email me the service agreement the following morning. After that, I never heard from anyone from Dewey ever again. The whole ordeal wasted more than a week of our time while we had bugs inside the house.

We've been using Dewey for several years and we our very Happy with Darrell he is always willing to go the extra mile and give's us suggestions. And the girls in the office are always pleasant and friendly. We will continue to use Dewey for our service.

We had Melissa from Dewey come out to assess the issue at our home. She was a. On time (when does THAT happen??)
b. obviously very knowledgeable about her job, which gave me
immediate confidence.
They came out and serviced our home and a couple days later I had a question for Melissa. I texted her hoping this wasn't an intrusion (instead of going through the office) at 7:15 a.m. thinking she would get back to me at some point that day. She called me almost immediately! So impressive. The next day or so I had another question (yes, I am a big pain in the ass) and she again responded right away and, I feel, went out of her way to deal with my issue and make us feel like someone important to their company.
I am huge on customer service and, so far, Melissa (and, by extension, Dewey in general) have exceeded my expectations...which, admittedly, are pretty high. (Hey, call me customer service snob...I accept). I am genuinely surprised by the negative reviews here, but everyone has their issues
