I am mystified by the negative reviews posted here. I recently had a knee replacement and everything went well. Dr. O'Dowd is a wonderful surgeon and the support staff is exceptional. I give high marks to Congress Orthopaedic Associates and I highly recommend this medical group. I would not hesitate to seek out their services in the future.

Worst bunion hammer toe surgery ever. Three surgeries to correct a very simple procedure. Still is not corrected and now my foot looks deformed.

I have been going here and have been happy with the quality of care but trying to get my medical records is a nightmare. They have hired an incompetent outside service. It's $50 to get the records copied and sent. I paid $100 so the records would be sent to 2 doctors. SO far no records have been received and the outside service has no idea what is going on. Patients deserve better treatment when trying to get their own records.

My appt. was canceled the day before but with some discussion got a different dr. MRI was ordered at a different site which also doesn't answer phone and they had the wrong info but the technician was fine. Now I am trying to make the follow-up w/dr but no-one answers phone, the web portal doesn't allow making appts, and when I used a different site - Congress Ortho - my doctor was listed but in the request his name isn't on the list!!! I may have to drive there to make an appt!!! Can't believe how incompetent the management is!!! Heard Cedars Sinai is taking over - hope they fix it fast!!

This place was recommended to me so I decided to try them. I sprained my left shoulder and needed to see an orthopedic doctor. My reviews are:
-My appointment was t 10:00am and was called in an hour later
-Waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. The doctor only took 10 minutes and said i need an MRI.
-Got my MRI recommendation and went to MRI office to make an appt. MRI canceled my appt. because they said it was denied by my insurance. Per my insurance they needed more information from the doctor.
Fast forward, nothing was done after and even calling the doctors office it's a recording and even said, "Don't leave multiple messages and they will call me back" Never returned my call or even to tell me what's the next step. For 3 weeks I followed up and called but NEVER GOT A RETURN CALL NOT EVEN FROM THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT OF the DOCTOR.
Very unprofessional and doesn't care for their patience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 37311899Jun 5, 2023
I have a sprained foot and need an MRI to check for ligament damage. Called last week and the phone rang forever, with no answer. Called this office again this morning and was on hold to speak to a receptionist for over 16 mins before hanging up. Called again after hanging up and the phone rang forever again with no answer. Are they closed down? Also I tried looking on their website and noticed they only have male doctors, zero females. So weird.

I confirmed with Health Net and called Congress Orthopedic to make an appointment before going to their Arcadia location. Upon arrival after filling out all the forms and submitting my insurance....I waited with my son (he was coming in for a potential broken finger). After 1 hr of waiting, I was told that our insurance is not in their network, although our policy is PPO. I had already taken time off work and pulled my son from school to be at this appointment and agreed to pay for the examination out of pocket. I was told it was going to be $277.19. At the end of the appointment, I was given a $655 bill. Then I received a bill for an additional $159.00 for a "ONE" velcro buddy strap. A piece of equipment that cost $2.00 on Amazon/ CVS/ Walgreens...I was charged $159 after my $655 office visit that took all of 30 minutes. SHAME ON THIS BUSINESS.

An absolute indifference to COVID protocols and a ridiculous wait time to get in once you arrive. I would go anywhere else.

Wasted so much of my time.
I found Congress Orthopedics through my insurance providers network search. I confirmed when I made the appointment that they were in network as well. I waited two excruciating weeks with terrible pain in my lower back for their first available appt. Prior to going in I filled out multiple forms through their app to avoid having to do it at the office.
When I got there I was asked to fill out the paperwork and told that even though they requested me to do it through the app that they don't actually have access to see any of that and so I just wasted my time (awesome!). So I sat in the waiting room and spent another 30 minutes filling out the exact same paperwork that I had already submitted virtually. Ok, mistakes happen, so I hand it in again.
Another 20 minutes goes by and I am then told that they are actually out of network and in order to see the doctor I would be paying out of network costs. She told me that they called and left a voicemail advising me of this (nope) but I have no voicemails and no missed calls and I don't delete any of those so I know for a fact that that is not true. On top of that, why make me spend another 30 minutes filling out paperwork if you were already aware and had my name when I checked in?
So I immediately go to my car and call my insurance company, United Healthcare who I have PPO / Choice Plus coverage through. United Healthcare assures me that this doctor is within their network coverage and they even called the office on my behalf and spent another hour + arguing with them on the phone to no avail.
They refuse to let me see this doctor with whom I have had an appointment with for the past two weeks and I am assured by my insurance provider it is covered and I'm in network. But they say they are willing to schedule me another appointment weeks out with a different doctor at the same office.
This has been such a waste of my time and effort and I spent the last two weeks sitting at my desk job in grueling pain thinking it will hopefully be over soon when I can start getting the medical care that I need. Unfortunately, almost all orthopedic surgeon providers in the area through my UHC are with Congress Orthopedics.
I now scheduled an appointment with a provider that is a much further drive out just so I don't ever have to deal with this provider again. I honestly don't know why they have such good reviews on Google, (yelp seems closer to accurate) based on my own experience I completely disagree and I would recommend that anybody else look for a different office.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Myrna E.CA, CA061Jun 23, 2023
This is the first time I have been to this medical clinic. As soon as I walked in , I felt a warm and friendly atmosphere. The entire staff is nice, friendly and helpful. Always, with a smile. Big shout out to DR HINDOYAN who found the time to work with me, address my health concerns, ease my worries and made me comfortable. I know I am in good hands.
