Aire Serv went above and beyond in addressing the air quality in my godmother's home. Shout-out to Lauren and Adriana for their amazing customer service and kindness!
As a professor of environmental rhetoric who deeply values the well-being of both people and the environment, I was particularly concerned about finding a solution that aligned with my principles. Air Serve's dedication to not only resolving the problem but also doing so promptly and efficiently truly impressed me.
Their installation of a specialized filter package showcased their commitment to utilizing environmentally up-to-date and conscious solutions. The team worked tirelessly to complete the project before my return to teaching in the fall, understanding the importance of time constraints. This level of dedication reflects their genuine care for their customers' needs and schedules.
In a place like Southern California, where environmental concerns are paramount, it's refreshing to find a company like Aire Serv that not only addresses issues effectively but also considers the broader impact on people and the environment. I wholeheartedly recommend Aire Serv for their exceptional service, commitment to customers, and environmentally-friendly approach.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We need to install ducting for our new vent hood. Reached out to Aire Serv based on their description that they do custom ducting. The person answered the phone was courteous and friendly. When she didn't know something, she got an answer and called me back. However, we did not schedule the service because they wanted $99 for visit fee. If we go through the service, the $99 will be part of the job. We totally understand the charge but just didn't want to proceed. So this review is solely based on the customer service of the person who picked up the phone.

I am only writing this as a I do not wish for this to happen to anyone else. If you have a short project on hand, they may be helpful, but please know what you are getting in to. Hope this helps.
I hired Aire Serv of Pasadena back in December 2020 where they came and fixed a leak in my outdoor HVAC unit and refilled the refrigerant.
Fast forward to July 21, 2022. Having what I thought was a good experience from the first encounter, I had them come over to service my unit during the extreme heat wave as no cold air was blowing into my unit. The technician that came just told me that my refrigerant was low and that he would refill it again to fix the issue. This was his diagnosis and I was going to be charged $99 for the initial diagnostic fee
I suspected that there was something else going on. How could the refrigerant empty out in the span of less a year and a half if the leak had been "fixed?" When I mentioned this, he said that he would need to use an electronic leak detector to identify if a leak was present. This would be extra $405 "diagnostic fee", but they would waive the $99 initial diagnostic fee. Sure enough there is a different problem, not just the refrigerant leak. At that time I wanted to get the issue resolved right away because it was already blazing hot and I had no A/C going.
July 26, 2022: I am quoted a little above $7000 to replace my HVAC unit as the area that was affected was not able to be fixed and required a specialized unit.
August 5, 2022: I put down half for my initial payment to get the process started and start to receive emails for random appointment times and dates that I did not set up. So every time this happens I have to call and sort it out.
August 15, 2022: I have to call and ask how long it will take for my unit to arrive. I am told 4-8 weeks as it is a special order.
August 31, 2022: After multiple communications initiated by me a rough arrival date of September 30, 2022 is confirmed.
October 4, 2022: The wrong unit shows up further delaying the project.
October 26, 2022: I receive notice that the new unit is being shipped out and that the part (coil) was received on October 27, 2022. We set up the date to finally fix what was started on July 21.
November 9, 2022: The technicians arrive and when they unbox the unit to get it installed. The wrong part arrived AGAIN and am told that they cannot proceed with the installation. I reach out multiple times and do not hear back until...
November 11, 2022: I hear back and am told it will be another waiting game between the manufacturer. It is no longer hot, but it is now getting cold.
November 28, 2022: I finally receive a email stating it would take another 6-8 weeks from this point.
December 3, 2022: I reach out in good faith asking if there is any way to help remedy the situation.
December 5, 2022: I receive an email apologizing for all of the miscommunications. It is also communicated to me that the company is losing money on this in a way where I am supposed to empathize with them. This is also not the first time I have been told they are losing money on this project.
December 29, 2022: I have to be the one to follow up to see if there are any updates. I get an email saying that they will check tomorrow.
January 3, 2023: I contact again about updates as I have not heard anything.
February 2, 2023: We are now on track to receive the unit on February 27, 2023.
February 24, 2023: The correct parts have finally arrived and we are ready to install.
March 16, 2023. The installation is complete 2/3 of a year later. I ask them for photo documentation for proof of the work done and receive that along with the work order. My mistake for trusting the photos and work order.
July 24, 2023. I had an inspector come out to check out the property to make sure everything was in good working order on the property for a pending sale. Surprise, there is a random pipe just hanging out by the HVAC unit. They did not mention this to me at all or provide photo documentation from March 16, 2023. When contacted by my realtor they told her that they did not have time this week to come out, until she pointed out that it was a liability. Amazingly they had availability to come out within the week after that was said. They came to check it out and explained it was a drain pipe and that a plumber could come out and cap it or remove it. This could have been easily avoided by letting me know that this was up there after the work was complete.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Mac, we are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience you encountered throughout your project. Given that your original unit was no longer being manufactured, we determined two viable options: completely redesign your system and get into a large construction project, or trust a manufacturer who told us they had a direct replacement. We genuinely tried to provide you with the best solution by offering a direct replacement unit. However, we acknowledge that there were unforeseen difficulties in the process, including the manufacturer's multiple errors in sending the wrong equipment. Unfortunately, these delays were beyond our control, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration they caused. Despite the setbacks, we are glad we could provide you with two portable A/C units at no additional cost to help alleviate some of the discomfort during the summer months. Regarding the pipe, it was an old emergency drain that we upgraded to a float switch, and we apologize if there was a gap in communication about this. Once again, we understand that dealing with an obsolete unit and transitioning to a new system can be complex and time-consuming, and your feedback is invaluable to us as we work to improve our services. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve the challenges that arose, and we are sorry the process took so much longer than anticipated.

Had the pleasure of working with Michael and Tina again yesterday on an AC issue - absolutely fantastic service!! From the first phone call to paying the bill - smooth, ZERO stress, no surprise charges, excellent prices! Can't recommend this company enough!
Found a small leak around my AC unit but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. And my AC unit was definitely long overdue for a check up anyway. I remembered from my last time with Airserv that they offer "tune up" packages. So I called to schedule an appointment for a tune up and to find the leak.
Had the pleasure of speaking to Tina on the phone several times to get it all set up and she was SO friendly and thorough! And turns out they had an immediate opening so I had my issue fixed and the tune up done before lunch time haha! She got me all set up with an appointment almost immediately!
Michael was my technician again - he had visited last time several years ago and I remembered him bc of how kind and knowledgeable he is! He was able to figure out my leak issue which thankfully was a very minor issue that he fixed in less than 30 mins.
I purchased their "advantage plan" which is an excellent value for what you get imo. It includes 2 visits - one in spring to tune up your AC before the hot temps kick in and one in fall to tune up your heater before winter temps hit. It also includes an air filter replacement. Michael did all sorts of tests and thoroughly examined my indoor and outdoor components. He explained all his findings very well - you can tell he knows what he's doing!
Also included in the advantage plan is a 15% discount on any repairs/parts/labor etc - and you get ANOTHER discount on top for doing repairs same day - so I went ahead and replaced a corroded component Michael found for an excellent price - and WOW what a huge difference it made in my AC performance!! So much more powerful and efficient! I couldn't be happier!
I highly highly recommend Airserv - they will definitely be my trusted, go-to AC company! Ask for Michael - he's the best!Helpful 60Thanks 0Love this 55Oh no 0Business owner information

Hannah - thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate the feedback! Happy to hear you have been saved from the heatwave. Let us know next time you are in need of services.
Jun 15, 2019Previous reviewOur AC went out during this past heat wave and the team at Aire Serv were incredible from start to finish! I made an appointment with Sochi and ended up talking to her a couple of times and she was one of the kindest people I've ever talked to! They were able to fit me in ahead of schedule which was such a blessing! Michael came out and did our repair and was also so nice and professional and caring! He also took the time to teach me how to keep my unit clean and give me some tips. And the price was totally fair! I can't say enough good things about this team! Thanks so much!

The reply from Aire serv is simply nonsense. I got estimate from 2 other companies for free and complete the work of 1 of them at exact the price they quoted.
By the way, it is half of price aire serve quoted.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello John,
Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate your perspective and honest feedback. I wanted to further explain our process so that the quote may make more sense. A lot of duct cleaning companies advertise a low entry rate price and then nickel and dime when they are on site. We do not agree with the process that other companies have adopted and give an honest price upfront for the total project. We first inspect the ducting system to ensure that your ducting will not be damaged or fall apart during the duct cleaning process, this is why we charge a diagnosis fee. We feel that cleaning ducts and then our customers needing to pay to have them replaced afterwards is unfair to them.
We always do a pre-and post camera inspection, remove the grills and wash them with detergent, move necessary furniture to access all vents, clean all vents including the ones that are difficult to reach, clean the furnace and blower assembly area, inspect the filtration system, mist a antifungal anti-microbial into the ducting system and blower assembly system, reinstall all vents and adjust registers, and finally clean up better than we found it. We also send two employees to make sure that the project is done safely without damaging your property unlike other companies who send one technician to do it all on their own.
We include all of this into the total price, so that all of our customers know what they are getting, tax included because we pride ourselves on being honest, informative, and upfront.
Also, the quote we provided, includes a year worth of HVAC maintenance for your 3 HVAC systems, separate from the duct cleaning services.
I hope this explains our process and pricing for a large project like yours. I am more than happy to discuss this or any other questions he may have.
Please call me at any time directly 626-639-0236. We want to make sure that all of our customers have a wonderful experience. Thank you again for your honest response it is only through honesty that we can improve ourselves and our procedures.Sep 6, 2020Previous reviewI contacted Airser for duct xleaning estimate. I should have know that when they want to charge me for estimate is a good sign. Simply will not give quote over the phone. I have 18 vents for my house and the price they quoted was $2600 to clean it. Are they nuts?
So, I paid $79.99 for the rip-off estimate. Think again before you call them for estimate. The average vent cleaning fee is about 35 to 40 per vent. - Steve S.South Pasadena, CA013Jan 12, 2023Updated review
This is an update for my previous review from last Dec. Aire Serv did replace our defective heating/air conditioning unit on Dec. 13, 2022, after Vic, the owner, and his employees determined that our 11-month-old Amana unit was "a lemon." Since it was still under warranty, they would replace it at no cost to us. However, once the unit was installed, Vic explained that he would be willing to "split the cost" with us for the crane and labor involved in the installation. That cost was about $1100.00 for our half. Fortunately, we still had our original invoice for the unit and it clearly stated in 3 separate paragraphs that, if for any reason, during the 1 year warranty period the unit should fail, Aire Serv would cover ALL costs. It did not say anything about us having to pay for a crane and the labor to install a new one. After sending Vic an email back in December where I quoted exactly what the invoice stated and that we should not be liable in any way for any costs, he responded today that we were right and that Aire Serv will not be billing us. He had thought that we were out of the warranty period and apologized for his mistake, which we greatly appreciated. We also appreciate that the new unit works perfectly so far.
We also purchased a service policy with Aire Serve back in May of 2021. It has more than paid off because they come every 3 months to inspect the unit, change filters, and repair anything that is needed for $210.00 for a year. We look forward to continuing to call on Aire Serv for our future heating/air conditioning needs and hope that we have no need to replace our new unit for at least 15 years.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 8, 2022Previous reviewSo, in December of 2021 our heating/air conditioning unit died. We immediately called Aire Serv of Pasadena because they had been maintaining our unit in the past and done a great job. After approximately 2 weeks of suffering in the cold, our new Amana unit arrived and Aire Serv installed it. All was well until...this past November. Once again, the heater started having issues. It would take at least an hour for it to finally start working and sometimes it didn't work at all. Thank goodness the unit was still under warranty because it had been less than a year since we'd bought the new one.
On November 17, 2022, Adrianna, one of the technicians, arrived (we had requested an appointment as soon as possible, but none were available). After Adrianna examined our unit both inside our home and on top of the roof, she determined that there was nothing wrong. Since that day it actually would turn on, we took her word for it and she was on her way.
The next day it wouldn't turn on at all. Another phone call to Aire Serv and Frank Gallegos came out on Nov. 23rd. This time after 3 1/2 hours on the roof, he determined that 3 parts were defective. He said he'd order them and let us know when they came in. In the meantime, he offered to bring us 2 space heaters the next morning, Thanksgiving, which he did.
Then, on Dec. 5 Michael came out to install the defective parts. However, when he arrived he told us only 1 part had come in. He was hoping it would be the one that would restore our heat; so did we. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. So, he told us he'd let us know when the other parts came in and made a tentative appointment for Dec. 19, hoping they would be here by then. He also said they'd keep us informed of the status.
Today, Dec. 8, we still have no heat so I decided to call Aire Serv to see if anything had changed or what the status was on the parts. I spoke with Tina and Lauren and expressed my frustration in no uncertain terms. There has been virtually no communication with Aire Serv unless my husband or I initiate it. They do not update us on what Amana says about the parts. Finally, Lauren called me and explained that she contacted Amana and learned that the parts are on back order and will not be here until 4+ weeks from now!! I told her that was unacceptable and that the 2 space heaters are totally inadequate to heat our 3 story townhome. She said she'd have more delivered to us which I thanked her for. However, waiting another month or longer is not acceptable. My husband chimed in on the call and asked about changing out the entire unit for a different one since this one seems to be a "lemon." She said she'd talk to the owner and have him call us later today. We'll see. So far, we're not at all satisfied with Aire Serv's "service." The employees are friendly and professional, but seemingly unable to come up with any real solutions other than providing us with space heaters. We'll see what the owner has to offer. - Shirley R.Arcadia, CA09Nov 3, 2022
We were having trouble getting our heater to work and the weather was getting very cold. The house was freezing.
We called Aire Serve of Pasadena very late in the day and got their emergency service. They sent out a very knowledgeable tech named Adriana.
She was great and very thorough. She checked out everything; the attic, below the house in the crawl space and fixed the problem with our thermostat.
Thank you so much Adriana. We have a warm house now, thanks to you.
