Q:
Are you able to assist w replacing lost of handicap placard or does this need to go through DMV?
A:
I believe you can only do this through the DMV. But if you're getting a new one, or if you're renewing, you can do it at the AAA offices.

Do they take checks as payment for registration?

Came here to get an international driving permit so that I could drive for my upcoming trip to seoul. The process was quick and easy, and I was out within 30 minutes. They also do passport photos here too (which is needed for the permit)

Is it me or is it just a Monday? The moment I walked in the receptionist was not very nice. When I got shuffled to the back for an insurance rep, he was very short with me. I can feel he thought I was wasting his time. All I wanted was to take a car off the policy and don't want to pay for the days I don't have it until I get a new car. He said I can't do that until I get the new car and I will be prorated (I hope so). I know it may be only a few bucks saved, but it's still money. Next time I'll call for the rep I open my insurance with at this office. He was much more patient.

I have sent an email to Robert Clemente, his boss, and I am hopeful to receive a response that addresses my request.
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the recent experiences I have had with Jorge Perez, an individual responsible for managing my AAA insurance policy. Jorge's actions have left me deeply concerned, not only for the security of my insurance but also for the reputation and integrity of AAA.
First and foremost, I received a distressing email notifying me of the cancellation of my AAA insurance policy, and instructing me to call for reinstatement. Following this, I promptly contacted Jorge Perez to address the situation, expecting a quick and efficient resolution. Instead, Jorge opted to create a new policy, completely disregarding my loyal 10+ years of membership. This move resulted in the loss of valuable benefits that should have been rightfully retained.
Furthermore, Jorge's failure to cancel the old policy led to a financially burdensome situation where I was paying for two insurance policies simultaneously. This is not just an inconvenience but a gross mishandling of my finances and a breach of trust.
Adding to my mounting frustration, I sought Jorge's assistance to remove a vehicle from my policy, a task that should be routine for someone in his position. He assured me that this would be done promptly. To my astonishment, I later discovered that he had failed to take the necessary action, leaving me questioning his competence and reliability.
I have taken the initiative to document my interactions, including a voice recording where a representative acknowledges Jorge's incompetence and characterizes his actions as unprofessional. These documented instances raise serious concerns about his ability to effectively manage the insurance policies of AAA customers.
It is evident that Jorge Perez's handling of my insurance policy has been marred by incompetence and negligence, jeopardizing my financial security and causing undue stress. I implore you to take this matter seriously and consider the following actions:
1. **Immediate Resolution:** Rectify the mistakes made by Jorge Perez, including reinstating my previous policy with all the benefits I am entitled to and rectifying any financial discrepancies caused by his errors.
2. **Accountability:** Conduct a thorough investigation into Jorge's actions and the impact on other policyholders. Ensure that he is held accountable for his unprofessional conduct and that measures are put in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
3. **Training and Supervision:** Evaluate the training and supervision provided to employees like Jorge Perez to prevent further mishandling of customer accounts.
4. **Customer Compensation:** Consider appropriate compensation for the inconvenience, financial losses, and emotional distress I have endured due to Jorge's actions.
5. **Termination if Necessary:** If Jorge Perez continues to exhibit incompetence and fails to meet the standards expected of an AAA employee, termination should be seriously considered to protect the interests of AAA and its valued members.
I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation. Your attention to this matter is crucial not only for my personal satisfaction but also to maintaining the trust and reputation of AAA. I eagerly await your response and a swift resolution to these pressing issues.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2 - Apr 17, 2022
I always have a great experience at this AAA! Staff are always friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Wait times can be a tad long, but never as long as they would be at the DMV so it's a win imo! They're very well organized as well, so that helps the lines move faster.
I've had AAA for years and have visited many times for various DMV needs - mostly for car registration renewals - but also for drivers license renewal, DMV address updates, title transfers, etc. Last week I came in to get my temporary handicap parking placard since I broke my ankle - and it was such an easy process thanks to AAA!
The thought never crossed my mind to get one, but doctor recommended a temporary one while I heal my leg. She gave me the forms I needed. I filled out the rest and brought it with me. I was a walk in (no appointment). They had three different lines to wait in - one for miscellaneous AAA stuff like memberships and travel, one for "regular" DMV, and one for "express DMV". The staff are great at directing which line you need to be in.
After checking into the "regular" DMV line, I had a bit of a wait but it was a very busy day at this location. They have plenty of seating and it's relatively comfortable. They even had a loveseat style chair available which was so helpful to me since I need to elevate my leg as much as possible!
Once I was called up, it was simple and straightforward. I didn't even have my current AAA card - but they were able to easily find me in the system so it was a nonissue. They processed my form, collected the $6 fee required, and handed me my handicap placard - so easy!
I'll always keep my AAA membership- it's helped me out more times than I can count and always pays for itself! It's absolutely worth it for the tons of travel discounts, help with flat tires and dead batteries, and especially for the DMV help!Helpful 44Thanks 0Love this 39Oh no 0 - Dave F.Monrovia, CA64300485Jun 9, 2023
Platinum members 15 years. Last couple years this office has changed and not for the better. Horrible lazy service. Why pay if the service is the same as going to DMV???
2 tier system and person at front desk not informed or helpful....
Go to another office and avoid this place.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Lynda B.El Monte, CA02415Nov 16, 2023
Service here was exceptional. Everyone of your employees was courteous. However, I am writing this to inform management of a toxic musty smell in the building . There's a leak or damage that needs fixing the carpet had a rancid ,musty, scent and it overwhelmed my senses .Making it extremely uncomfortable to be inside the office for a long period of time. I do hope someone tends to this problem.

Was so stressed bc my vehicle can't pass smog (I need to drive more to reset monitors) So, just a tip...today was the last day to pay for me, pay your fees(cash, chk) show your Failed smog test, and you can get a 2 month extension for $50. Im so relieved. I have 2 more months to drive (or get work done) without getting pulled over. They give you a temp sign for back window. I've never had an issue here, everyone has always been cool. I'm so glad AAA exists and didn't have to go to DMV. If you're not feeling this place the Pasadena one isn't far.

Probably the worst Triple A around. It's so sad because their decline in professionalism & customer service has definitely declined in the past few years. It used to be an A+ association but now it's an F place. Been a member for over 13 years and they canceled my policy, had to reinstate and made me open a new policy, which is bonkers. No loyalty. I had an encounter with a male insurance agent and he rushed me out of his office in less than 3 minutes because he had a "more important client." Sir, what? This place has mediocre workers. Not only that but they gossip about their clients EVEN when you are the client sitting in the chair. I don't think I'll ever come back here.
